The Friday Club is a weekly drop-in service that provides companionship, a hot and healthy lunch and professional welfare support to the homeless, vulnerable and in need.

The Friday Club has been running for 4 years and is co-hosted by C4WS Homeless Project and King’s Cross Methodist Church. At its heart is a community environment in which guests take ownership of the Club and ensure it is maintained as a safe and welcoming place for anyone to join.

In 2014 we opened our doors to 150 unique guests and provided more than 1200 lunches. We also work closely with local community services that can benefit guests and have hosted physiotherapy, hairdressing, health screening and art projects at the Club.

Each week, the lunch is cooked by volunteer chefs who prepare the meal and enjoy the opportunity to sit alongside our guests and share it with them. We have also welcomed numerous corporate volunteer teams who have given up time from their workplaces to come and prepare and serve the meals.

The Friday Club also operates a peer-led element with former shelter guests coming into volunteer as chefs and current users helping to set up and clear away the Club each week.

Last year, we went on our very first Friday Club trip to the Brighton seaside, thanks to funding from Zenith.

We are looking for sponsorship for this year’s trip, so please get in touch if you think you can help!
